PENGARUH JENIS SKIN DAN PEREKAT PADA KOMPOSIT SANDWICH DENGAN INTI OPENED CELL FOAM BAMBU TERHADAP DENSITAS, KEKUATAN BENDING, KEKUATAN TEKAN, DAN PENYERAPAN AIR
In this study, material use fiber glass and plywood skin while using epoxy type adhesive and an eagle (PVAc). Fiber volume fraction of 15% by weight, with length of the distance between holes is 40 mm. Tests performed is test density refers ASTM C - 271 standard, the test press the edges according to ASTM C364-99, bending test which refers to the standard ASTM C – 392, and water absorbtion refers to standard ASTM 272. The results show that the density of the composite sandwich with epoxy adhesive and an eagle (PVAc) has an average density of 0.75 gr/cm3. Average density fiberglass composite sandwich with skins of 0.75 gr/cm3, while the composite with plywood skin of 0.41 gr/cm3. Average bending strength of composite sandwich with epoxy adhesive at 14.80 N/mm2, while the adhesive composite with an eagle (PVAc) at 12.81 N/mm2. Average bending strength with fiberglass skins at 12.81 N/mm2, while the composite with plywood skin by 5.98 N/mm2. The compressive strength of the average composite sandwich with epoxy adhesive is 0.00787 N/mm2, while the adhesive composite with an eagle (PVAc) by 0.00705 N/mm2. The compressive strength of the edge of the average composite sandwich with fiberglass skin of 0.00705 N/mm2, while the composite with plywood skin of 0.00108 N/mm2. The highest water absorption demonstrated by the composite specimens with skin plywood by 42%, while the lowest water absorption in the skin fiberglass composite specimens of 8%. By anova analysis, variation in adhesive does not significantly influence the density testing, bending strength, compressive strength edge and water absorption, while variations in the type of skin significantly influence the density testing, bending strength, compressive strength edge, and water absorption.
