KEKUATAN BENDING DAN IMPACT PAPAN KOMPOSIT POLYESTER YANG DIPERKUAT SERAT PANDAN DURI DENGAN VARIASI SUDUT ANYAM SERAT DAN JENIS FILLER
ABSTRACT
Composite is a combination of two or more materials which are arranged in a certain way to get new properties on the material results. Manufacture of natural fiber composites is one way to get the mecanical properties of the new material. This study aims to determine the nature of the bending strength and impact toughness of reinforced polyester composites pandanus tectorius fiber with filler of coconut shell powder and albazia falcataria sawdust.
Making the composite is done by hand lay-up methods. Material used in the manufacture of this composite is pandanus tectorius fiber with filler of coconut shell powder and albazia falcataria sawdust. Tests were carried out based on ASTM D790 standards for bending test and ASTM D256 for impact testing. The methods used in impact testing is charpy method. To determine the significance of variations influence on is used two ways analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the variation of the angle woven fiber 600/1500 and filler type with constant volume fraction fiber 30%
From the results of this study can be concluded that the variation of the angle woven fiber and filler type significant effect on the value of impact strength. the variation of the angle of bending test with the type of filler 00/900 woven coconut shell powder and albazia falcataria sawdust have a significant influence on the bending strength, while the variation of the angle woven fiber 300/1200 and 600/1500 with coconut shell powder filler does not have a significant effect on the bending strength, the variation of the angle woven fiber 300/1200 and 600/1500 with albazia falcataria sawdust not have a significant effect on the bending strength. In the bending test obtained the highest bending strenght of 51,43 MPa at an angle of 600/1500 with filler coconut shell powder and bending strenght low of 40,45 MPa at an angle 00/900 with albazia falcataria sawdust. While the value of the highest impact toughness at 6638,8 J/m2 at an angle of 600/1500 with filler coconut shell powder, and the lowest impact strength value that is equal to 1815,6 J/m2 at an angle 00/900 with albazia falcataria sawdust
